YOLO or Go Home

17 Apr

When I was a freshmen in college, the first time my roommate and I ever talked he explained to me the concept of ‘Go Big or Go Home.’ More or less you will only have one chance to do a particular event or action. If you don’t make the best of it, you may as well quit and go home. Although it wasn’t an instant transformation, that saying as single handedly effected my life more than anything I can remember. As an intern in LA, one director gave a similar word of advice. Priorities will forever be malleable, we set our own fate. Studying for one test super hard can effect our grade, but on the other-hand, hanging out with friends and partying that night can result in meeting a new special lady or having the time of your life.

My roommate went on to tell me hundreds of stories that effected his saying. Anyways, the trending term of “YOLO” keeps mirroring ‘Go Big or Go Home’ (GBoBH). It gives the hope that we have to push ourselves and do our best, because, well, we only live once.

being nuts

Either saying, push yourself. Don’t give up, you are the only thing that holds you back. A particular party, test, date or event will only happen that one particular time. Choose wisely.
